Melting Monday ...

... Oh boy it's HOT!!! The past weekend was glorious and saw the start of a mini-heatwave that's due to sweep over the UK this week. Now for some people 30o C probably doesn't seem that warm (especially for the end of June) ... but you gotta remember that the past two summers here have been total wash-outs!!! I'm totally lovin' the fact that I can sit outside in my garden, enjoying my new furniture (see earlier posts) and generally just chillin' out.

Daddy called me on Friday to wish me a happy birthday ... he's still touring round Spain, but says the temps there are close to 40o C during the day ... ouch, way to hot!!!

So update on the job front ... Iain got a letter this morning telling him "thanks, but no thanks!". I haven't heard back yet about the interview I attended last Thursday, but I have had an acknowledgment email from another company about another position I've applied for ... just keeping my fingers crossed ... though not too tightly because I'm kinda enjoying the summer days. Tee-hee!!!

OK, so it's too hot to sit here with the laptop on, so I'm gonna log off now & make myself a Mojito ... my new drink of the moment!!! Zingy limes ... yummy!!! Hope everyone can just "chill", even in the baking temps!!!

What Day Is It ...

... I can't believe I haven't blogged in a week. BAD BLOGGER!!! But in truth, you're not missing much. I've been busy doing ... actually I'm not sure what I've been doing ... but it must've been important otherwise I would've been here sooner.

So it's nearly my birthday and I'm excited, even though I've got nothing planned. Iain and I will probably go out for a meal, though we haven't really discussed it yet. More likely that we'll decide on the day. I'm DEFINITELY treating myself to a bottle of bubbly ... finances be damned!!!

Talking of finances, I've got an interview tomorrow morning! It's for a part-time receptionist job, working 12:45pm-5:15pm, Monday to Friday. It's not the kinda role I would normally apply for, but you know what? I feel like doing something different! Iain had a job interview last night ... YES last night, the role is working a night-shift, 10pm-6am, Monday to Friday. If he gets that job and I get my job, then I've no idea when we're actually going see each other!!! Oh well, guess we'll cross that bridge if / when we come to it.

Anyhoo, it's been a while since I posted any LO's, so here are a some of my recent creations. Enjoy!!!

MIA ...

... last week was an absolute BLAST, but oh boy I was soooooo tired at the end of it! Sue's Spotlight week was an incredible success with 400+ LO's being posted in her gallery. Being part of Sue's CT meant I was involved "behind the scenes" too. The best bit for me was that each day, I got to nominate my favourite "Layout Of The Day" (LOTD). With so many wonderful LO's to choose from, it wasn't as easy as you'd think, but it was sooooo much fun telling people you'd nominated them!!! There were some amazing nominations and I'm hoping to post some collages soon.

But for now it's back to reality and job hunting. Iain's got an induction tomorrow morning for a "temp" position at a company, he's not entirely certain it's the right role, but he's gonna give it a try. He was sooooo supportive of my decision to leave my last job after only 1 week, so I've already told him I'm 100% behind whatever decision he makes.

OK folks, this was only meant to be a quick post, so I'll sign off now & catch up with you all later.

Marvellous Monday ...

... so the fun has started over at oscraps and Sue's week in the spotlight is off to a flying start. She's soooooo generous and has fun & games planned throughout the week. There are LOTS of prizes and opportunities to be the proud owner of LOTD (Layout Of The Day) buttons ... click here for more details.

Sue's designed some AMAZING products for her week in the spotlight too, there's a FREEBIE mini kit, Sue's 1st ever full kit, a template quick page and a word art kit! Phew, she's been sooooo busy!!!

Here's a selection of LO's created by Sue's CT Team and the CheeryO's at oscraps:

Slow Sunday ...

... it's taking an ETERNITY to get through today. I know you shouldn't wish your life away, but when you're waiting for something to start, long drawn out days are NOT what you need. What am I waiting for you ask? ... well Sue Cummings' week in the spotlight kicks off at 6pm (EST) at oscraps.com today. Now 6pm (EST) is 11pm my time ... I think!?!? You see, timezones have never been my strong point. In fact, there's a thread on Sue's forum that's dedicated to figuring out what timezone we're all in!!!

Other than Sue's spotlight, I've got NOTHING else planned for next week. I'm just gonna chill-out, digi-scrap & generally have fun!

Wherever you are, I hope you're having a fun Sunday & I'll catch up with you all again during the week.

Wednesday woes ...

... so I made a decision that I know in my heart was the right one for me, but at the same time makes me feel really bad. I quit my new job. It just wasn't right for me ... I know I didn't give it long ... but sometimes you just know ... you know? I knew that being a "contractor" would be different from being an employee, but I was still expecting support from the company. I'm not blameless though ... I was just so excited about working there, that I guess I didn't really think hard enough about whether "there" would be right for me ... and as it turns out, it wasn't.

So what's next for me? Well you know what ... I don't know! I think I've decided that I want to spend more time at home and the idea of working part-time really appeals to me. 10am - 4pm would suit me just fine! As for what line of work? Well that's also up for review ... I think I need some professional advise! Somebody who doesn't know me, but could ask the "right" questions in order to help me understand what it is that I'm good at. There MUST be something I'm good at ... right?

Oh, by-the-way before I forget ... Sue Cummings' week in the spotlight at oscraps.com has been postponed for a week (due to server problems) and will now start on 8th June 2009, but I promise you it will be worth the wait!
