Thursday Thrills ...

... OK, so I spent this morning "in the office" meeting people and getting to know a little bit more about the business. I really liked what I saw and I'm hoping they liked me too! Now all I need to do is wait to here from them, hopefully with a job offer!!!

The rest of today will just be chilling out before getting ready to go out and meet up with friends for dinner. My kinda day!

Tuesday Treats ...

... I have two bits of news for you all today.

Firstly, I love it when talented designers bring out new goodies! Sue Cummings has released her latest kit called From My Notebook {Beach} and it is just PERFECT for all those seaside & beach holiday snapshots. Here are a couple of LO's created using her kit:

Secondly, I've heard back from the company I had the interview / presentation with last week and things are looking good! They've invited me to spend a couple of hours in the office on Thursday this week; the aim is for both parties to get to know each other a bit better & see how we all get on together as a team. So assuming this goes well & with luck, I'll get the job. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

... still waiting!

Still Waiting ...

... No news on the job front yet, so I'm trying to keep myself occupied with digi-scrapping to make the time pass more quickly ... BUT ... it isn't working and I find myself checking my watch every few minutes!!!

Thankfully, Sue Cummings has a mini challenge going on at her blog & oscraps and this has helped keep my mind of other things ... a little bit anyway! Here's my LO created for the challenge, appropriately called "Clock Watching".

Tuesday Terror ...

... OK so "terror" might be a slight exaggeration, but never-the-less, delivering a 15 minute presentation to potential new employers is pretty daunting! But, it's done now. All I can do is wait. And wait. And wait, until the company let me know if I've been successful. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Sunday Saunter ...

... This will just be a quick post; I'm supposed to be preparing a presentation. Why? Well, I found out late last Thursday that I've been invited to a 2nd interview for a job. Yay!!! I had the 1st interview last Tuesday and I really enjoyed it! Does that sound weird? Well weird I must be ... I usually don't mind interviews, I see them as my opportunity to find out about the company and decide whether or not I really want to work with them. Anyhoo, the interview went well and I got a phone message and email inviting me back for a further interview this coming Tuesday .... AND ... the company would like me to prepare and deliver a presentation [the subject being performance management of the team]. So my weekend is being spent creating the slideshow [fun bit] and writing my "script" [tough bit] and then standing in front of my bedroom mirror and presenting to myself [or Iain] over and over again!!!! Wish me luck.

Thursday Toddle ...

... What's happened since I last posted? Hhhmmmm ... Iain had an interview last Thursday, but found out today that he didn't get the job. I had an interview on Tuesday (just gone) and I'm still waiting to hear back from the company. They said I probably wouldn't hear until next week, so I guess I'll just have to be patient! Other than that, not much else has gone on.

We went into Oxford today, and whilst it's a beautiful city, the shops there are a bit ... dull! We both said that the next time we go shopping, we should choose somewhere else. Any suggestions?

I'm seriously contemplating buying myself a new camera. I've got my eye on the Nikon D60 or the Canon EOS450 ... I've found a website (I've bought from in the past) doing pretty good package deals on both cameras, just need to finalise my decision as to which one to go for!

Oh and before I forget ... I've just pre-ordered Vinnie Pearce's Digital Scrapbooking book (which is due for it's UK release on 31st July 2009, I think???) from Waterstones ... can't wait for it to arrive!

Wednesday Whimsy ...

... did I mention that during July I'm a guest CT member for the fabulous Shaui of Fei-Fei's Stuff fame? She's an absolutely amazing designer and I just adore her kits. Her newest release "Reflections" will be in the store at oscraps very soon ... but being a CT member means I get to play before it's released ... yipppeeee ... here's a page created using a small selection from the kit:

Tuesday Treats ...

... Today is my friend Hazel's birthday. It would be rude of me to give away her age ... but lets just say she's half-way towards a card from Liz!!!

For the past two years, Hazel's birthday has been a special day in the office. In 2007 she became a princess for the day (it was 07/07/07 after all!), then in 2008 she was given a surprise "afternoon tea" party (cucumber sandwiches and all!) ... but because I no longer work at the same company, she thought that nothing was planned for today ... but she was wrong!

Today's birthday treat was to be a picnic ... outside in the fresh air, picnic blanket, paper plates, plastic cups and all! HOWEVER, this being England, the weather put a dampener on the event, which ended up being held indoors in a spare office! Not exactly ideal, but fun non-the-less. Unfortunately because we were in an office room, I couldn't take any photos of the picnic ... but on seeing the treats, Hazel's expression was very similar to that in the photo below (which was taken on her birthday in 2008).

Happy birthday Hazel ... hope you had a wonderful day, even though you have to work!

Subdued Sunday ...

... why the title you ask? Well, simply because that's exactly what today was ... subdued. That's not to say it was bad or anything, just quiet & relaxing.

So, one of my favourite digi-scrapping designers is Amanda Taylor of TaylorMade Designs. Her kits are always so fabulous and her design style always inspires me. Not only that, but she has the most wonderful tutorials on her blog (http://www.taylormade-designs.net/) ... the latest of which is all about adjustment layers in Photoshop and how to improve the colour of your photos. I just wanted to show you the results I got from following her tutorial:

Not bad huh?!?!? Even if I do say so myself. The adjusted photo just looks so much better, more vivid & vibrant. Here's the end LO the photo was used in:

Still Saturday ...

... Just wanted to post one of the LO's I created for the Designer Spotlight Challenge using one of the photos I took whilst wandering round town this morning:

P.S. Happy 4th of July to all my friends "over the pond" ... hope you have a FAB day!!!

Saturday Sunshine ...

... the sun is shining but thankfully the temp has dropped several degrees and it's a glorious day! So what's everyone up to this weekend? As I mentioned yesterday, Iain is away so I'm spending my time digi-scrapping. This weeks Designer Spotlight Challenge over at oscraps.com is all about patriotism ... not something us "Brits" are renowned for! Having said that, we have history, REAL history & TONS of it!!!

I'm lucky to live in a town that is bursting at the seams with history, but I often just drive past it, paying little or no attention. Well this morning, I decided to have a wander round & take in some of the scenery ... and wow ... there is some beautiful scenery round here!!!

Friday Freshness ...

... FINALLY the weather has broken and the mini-heatwave is over ... for now at least! It's been so uncomfortable at night and I've been waking up pretty much every 2 hours. I'm actually looking forward to sleeping under the covers tonight!

So Iain's away in Scotland visiting his brother this weekend, which means I get to spend all my time digi-scrapping without the guilt! LOVE IT!!! To get started, here's a quick "self portrait" LO. The photo was actually taken by Iain and he's done a FAB job ... thanks honey!!!

OK, hope you all have a fun Friday and chilled out weekend wherever you are.
